About the Poster Contest
The annual poster contest provides students an opportunity to convey their thoughts about soil, water and related natural resource issues through art.  The poster contest theme follows the annual National Association of Conservation District’s Stewardship theme. Each year, the poster contest starts at the county level.  County winners advance to the state level.  Finally, state winners advance to the National Contest. National winners are recognized each year at the NACD Annual Meeting.

The classroom of the winning county wide poster will receive $100 towards environmental education supplies or environmental education field trip.  Check will be made payable to the teacher.  RISWCD requests the teacher submit a picture and/or blurb to show how the $100 was used on environmental education.

Who Can Submit a Poster

The 2016 poster contest is open to all 2nd and 3rd graders within Rock Island County whether public, private, or home-schooled.
